2016 Burlington, VT BYO Boot Camp
Hundreds of hobby homebrewers traveled to Burlington, Vermont Nov. 4 & 5, 2016 to our first-ever Brew Your Own Boot Camp. The Boot Camp featured professional craft brewers, BYO writers, and top hobbyists leading sixteen different small-class, full day workshops over the two main days covering the full spectrum of the hobby. The attendees came from over 30 different states, the Virgin Islands and as far as from Greece, all of who enjoyed the chance to trade advice and stories with fellow homebrewers.
The optional pre- and post-boot camp VT Brewery Tours were popular and gave many attendees the opportunity to explore and tour Vermont’s craft breweries while having a chance to speak with head brewers or owners over beer samples.
From sour beer techniques to starting up your own commercial brewery to recipe formulation, there were subjects for every level and style of homebrewers. In most workshops, attendees got to participate first-hand in brewing demonstrations and tastings in addition to plenty of opportunities for asking questions. After each day’s classes, there was an evening reception for attendees in which local commercial breweries, distilleries and cidermakers poured samples to end the day!
Many thanks to all the speakers, sponsors, and of course attendees who all helped make this first BYO Boot Camp such a success. To check out some photos from the Vermont BYO Boot Camp weekend, click here for a photo album.

Also on June 1 & 4 we’ll be offering four workshops of interest to homebrewers in Ithaca, New York. Full details and registration information can be found here.
