Brew Your Own is once again offering unique and special beer-focused travel experiences with trips in 2020 to Ireland and Asheville, North Carolina. Space on both these trips is limited so don’t wait to register if you are interested since our prior two BYO trips to Belgium and Bavaria both sold out in advance.
Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, North Carolina has a little something for everyone. With its gorgeous natural area to explore, the most breweries per capita of any US city, a blossoming farm-to-table restaurant movement, and a booming arts district, it’s not hard to see why Lonely Planet recently named it the top travel destination in the US. We’ll tour and taste at a number of craft breweries including well-known brewers such as the beautiful facilities at Sierra Nevada and New Belgium as well as smaller brewpubs and small-batch breweries. In addition we’ll visit White Labs to learn about their yeast production, and River Bend Malt House to check out their malting process. On this tour, we pair amazing hikes on the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway and a paddle down the French Broad River with a wide variety of Asheville’s great craft beers. Come join us in Asheville for five full days of tasty local beer, hiking, and exploring all that Asheville has to offer. Click here for full details on the Asheville trip.
From classic pubs to pints of stout, Ireland is one of the world’s great beer cultures and new craft breweries are adding to the story. We’ll explore breweries ranging from the iconic Guinness in Dublin to smaller, newer craft breweries across the country. We’ll also visit a few whiskey distilleries, including Jameson Distillery and Kilbeggan Distillery along the way. Plus we’ll tour an Irish malting house, hit classic local pubs, and meet with an Irish homebrew club to trade sips and tips. We’ll be pairing our beer and whiskey experiences with scenic hikes through the Irish countryside and along the rugged coastline, take in breathtaking views on the DIngle Peninsula and the Cliffs of Moher as well as city stops in Dublin, Cork, and Galway. Experience Ireland’s beer culture first-hand during this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Click here for full details on the Ireland trip.
